The very first thing you should do if you’ve been in an accident with another vehicle is to pull over safely – if you are able to do so – and swap as many details as possible.
These should include:
- names
- phone numbers
- addresses
- registration numbers
- insurance details
If your vehicle is blocking the road and unable to be driven, you should call the police on 000 to report the accident. They will be able to arrange a tow truck to safely remove your vehicle.
Towed vehicles after hours will be delivered to our workshop in our locked storage area 24/7.
If you can still drive your vehicle and you are unharmed, continue to your destination after exchanging your details with the other driver if necessary. You can then contact us to arrange an estimate for repairs to the damage.
If you suspect anyone has been injured in the accident, you’ll find the contact details for Third Party Bodily Injury claims on your registration papers.
Once you’ve seen the damage to your vehicle and made the appropriate arrangements, don’t forget to call your insurance company so you can lodge your claim. We can help you with this.
If your vehicle is under finance, it’s a good idea to get in touch with your finance company as soon as you can.
